Caput XXIV: Unam Sanctam Ecclesiam Catholicam et Apostolicam.

Caput XXV: Confiteor unum baptisma in remissionem peccatorum.

I confess one baptism for the remission of sins.

Here the heretics are confounded who establish as many baptisms as there are baptizers. For there is one baptism sufficing for all, both for children who are held by original sin, and for adults who are held by actual sin.

For the remission of sins.

And thus in the sacrament of baptism are understood those sacraments by whose mediation forgiveness is given for sins. All this is referred to the tenth article, from the place "I confess." The same is contained in the apostolic symbol, where it is said: "the communion of saints, the remission of sins." For by "communion of saints" we understand the sharing of the sacraments.

And note that in the communion of saints three things are understood: the communion of the sacraments in the Church of God, spiritual participation in the sharing of the Holy Spirit, communion in the support of prayers. In this communion, moreover, we can understand the use of the Eucharist, in which all the faithful ought worthily to communicate. And such communion happens for the remission of sins.

Caput XXVI: Et expecto resurrectionem mortuorum.

Caput XXVII: Et vitam venturi saeculi.

Caput XXVIII: Amen.
