Diego Álvarez

Diego Álvarez (c. 1550–1631), Spanish Dominican theologian and Archbishop of Trani, defended the Thomist account of grace and free choice in the de auxiliis controversy. He wrote De auxiliis (Rome, 1610), a twelve-book treatise. The birth year is approximate; the dates follow R. J. Matava (2020) and the New Catholic Encyclopedia for the death year, rather than the older 1635 report.
