ScotistFranciscan

Bartolomeo Mastri (1602–1673), in Latin Bartholomaeus Mastrius, was a Conventual Franciscan from Meldola in Romagna. He taught in the order's houses of study in Italy and held offices in his province.

With his confrère Bonaventura Belluti he wrote the *Philosophiae ad mentem Scoti cursus integer*, a complete course of Scotist philosophy from logic to metaphysics. Alone he wrote the *Disputationes theologicae* on the four books of the *Sentences*. He argued at length with Jesuit and Thomist contemporaries, and his metaphysics, with its treatment of being, possibility and the formal distinction, is the fullest statement of seventeenth-century Scotism.
